So I was sulking a couple days ago because I've been wanting to go to "Chomps!" for a while now but instead my parents opted for another restaurant when we visited Miri, so to make it up to me (I think?), we took another trip across the border so we could wine and dine here! (minus the wine, because aside from a bottle of beer, none of us had any wine.)
The vicinity is relatively small, it takes up one small side of the Co.Co. Dive building; the staffs are friendly and the service is good. Everyone is very light-hearted and at ease, along with the lighting and laid-back vibe of the entire place, it just exudes a certain warmth.
The walls are tatted with graffiti -
- and well.. the chef is just... tatted up as well hahaha (that's the chef, on his phone btw). Mind you though, despite being located at a dive resort, these people don't dive, instead they sink their hands into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the Warmonger Miri.
The menu is relatively simple, western cuisine, beer and wine. We ordered:
1x crispy onion rings
1x lamb burger with potato wedges
1x braised lamb shank with barley and poached pear
2x classic steak with eggs and chips
Real onions dipped in batter and then deep fried, seasoned with salt and pepper, served with a slice of fresh lemon and tartar sauce, what could make a better starter innit? (I love my onion rings btw.)
Dish: Homemade Salt and Pepper Onion Rings
200g of patty sandwiched between cheese, egg, lettuce and bun; with a side of potato wedges. We had this the first time we came and it was real good. Second time was a little drier but decent nonetheless. The patty was spiced nicely and if you're the type to like the gamey kick to red meat, then this would be recommended. The first time I came, the patty was made of lamb meat, but if not mistaken there has been a change in menu since then, and now the patty is made of beef.

This is the Lamb Shank Special, available for a limited time only. It consists of a generous portion of lamb shank sitting on top of mashed potato, served with poached pears and somewhat of a risotto but is made with barley instead. I've never had poached pears before so this was a definite good first for me. The sauce was tangy and I'm not entirely sure what the lamb shank was marinated with but it was rich and tender and fell right off the bone!

Remember when I said I was sulking, this right here, ladies and gentleman is the reason why. I present to you the Classic Steak, Eggs and Chips. Marinated with thyme and rosemary, the doneness is cooked to your liking and mine was well-done. Served with sunny-side ups on the top and chips on the side. This, in my opinion, is one of the best steaks I've had. 11/10 would go back just for this.

Here's one with the man behind the dishes, Trevor, he's a fighter too.. literally! Apparently one of the most respected fighter according to one of my friends.
Am I satisfied? Yes. Did my shirt almost burst at its seams after dinner? Yes. Would I go back? Definitely.
Keep in mind that everyone has a different taste palette and that this post was written based on personal taste and opinion. Overall good food, good vibe and all at a decent price. Pop over if you're ever craving for some good ass steak or if you're just hungry!
